2nd Week

This week was a week of learning, up to right now, although we never do stop learning. I will cut out all the boring details of my days of staying in where I just occupied my self with my laptop,(so glad I brought it). I have learned that I NEED to be busy, and I cannot sit still for to long on a literal level. I feel as if I am not being productive and I am wasting the day. This is my thought process when I'm suppose to be relaxing on my "vacation". But I do not know what it is to relax, if I am sitting down or watching TV my mind is still going until I exhaust my brain and I fall asleep. Lesson one, learn how to relax.

Wednesday I went out with my uncle to run some errands and also learn how to get around town. We also briefly strolled through Westfield shopping center which was a treat for me to see all the stores and just the whole architecture of the shopping center. I went into footlocker and I saw a pair of air max that I wanted so my sites were set for the following day when my grandma would take me shopping. We went on to Stratford shopping center which is much smaller and has a flea market feel to it.We later went to visit one of his friends and we had some laughs about the differences between Canada and the UK. Lesson two how to get around and not get lost, and to remember I am not missing the buses because they drive on the left hand side of the road.

Thursday I got up early and ate a big breakfast that grandma cooks when ever she is home in the mornings (lucky me), and then we got ready to head out to Westfield mall to do some shopping. Forever 21 is kind of my favorite store and this one had two very large levels full of all sort of clothes, most of the styles were different from the ones available in Hamilton or Toronto. I was overwhelmed and then we went to this store called Primark, which now I realize is like a Walmart with out the grocery store but little different its a cross between a Marshalls/ Winners and a Walmart.

Friday I went back to Westfield because I had to exchange somethings, but this time I went by my self found my way and everything ! I did some exploring on my own, I was gone about 2-4 hours and I still didn't see everything in Westfield. I will put the pictures up and a silly little video one of them I said I would edit but I think I will leave it the way it is, it is not that long.

Sunday I went to church with Jameelia, those of you who don't know of her she is my friend Alicha's cousin who visited Canada a few times. We went back to her house after words and had dinner with two of her friends and her mom, it was nice having that fellowship it has been a while. I think I will be returning to that little church, I made two good friends today it was a wonderful day.

Disclaimer: These are pictures of around Westfield shopping center and I just have to say the two different close ups on the stairs are the total of all the stairs you have to climb to get to the main entrance of the mall ... unless you come in from the train station. enjoy leave comments or advice on places to go next !

1st Week

So I said I would start a blog and what better time than now. I was trying to wait until I had some worthy pictures to show you but why wait.

I have been in London, England for a week now and it has been interesting. I have been to the grocery store which does not seem to exciting but it is very different than a Canadian grocery store. For one thing even with the conversion some items are substantially more reasonably priced than in Canada. The next thing, they have a LCBO right in the middle of the grocery store. When I say LCBO I mean something like it, because they do not know what an "LCBO" is.The shelves were filled with every kind of wine liquor and beer you can think of and some I have never heard of and if I remembered the names I would have listed them riiiiiight [here].

I have taken the train, which by the way is not so confusing like I thought it would be, but I could easy get turned around if I didn't keep track of my progression. Also the houses on the residential streets do look alot alike and you can get lost if you do not pay attention to where your going. So now I know how to find my grandma's house from all the surrounding main roads. Which is an accomplishment for me. I want to be able to travel on my own so I can go explore on my own and not get lost. I guess its a bad habit, self efficiency/ impatience, which ever.

Other than all of that I have been catching up with my grandma and just enjoying family time. It has been a while. I will keep you updated and post pictures as soon as I can get a camera or a phone that can take good pictures and be able to post them. Till next time!
